The Greater Harrisburg Area Alumni Chapter of IUP Scholarship Fund was created in 1995
to provide annual scholarship awards to outstanding and deserving Harrisburg area
students enrolled at IUP. The following criteria have been established for awarding
the annual scholarship:
· Must be a permanent resident of the Chapter’s coverage area, which includes Adams,
Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, and York Counties;
· Must have earned between 26 and 90 credits and be a sophomore or junior according
to the University’s classification standards;
· Must be in good academic standing with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better;
· Demonstrate a financial need in pursuing educational goals;
· Preference will be given to students whose parents are current, dues-paying members
in the Chapter.

Since its inception, the endowments to this Scholarship Fund have allowed our Chapter
to award a total of $11,610 to qualifying students. The 2008 scholarship in the amount
of $1,800 was awarded to Anna Goth, a junior majoring in journalism. Anna is the current
president of the IUP Ambassadors, the university’s student alumni association. Anna is
also president of the IUP Chapter of Society of Professional Journalists and is also an
account executive for Lasting Impressions, IUP’s student-run public relations agency.
Anna hopes to pursue a career in the magazine inductor or public relations field when she
graduates. Anna currently has a 3.71 GPA. Anna resides in Mechaniscburg, PA.
